ORDINANCE NO. 2551

REPEALING AND REENACTING THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION CITY RETAIL SALES AND USE TAX ORDINANCE

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION THAT:

1. Chapter 24 of the Code of Ordinances of the City, also known as the City Retail Sales and Use Tax Ordinance, is hereby repealed and with the pamphlet authorized herein, is hereby reenacted.

2. Said code provides the standards and regulations applicable to the taxation of tangible personal property and taxable services for sale at retail and used, consumed, or stored within the city limits. This reenactment contains revisions to the prior City Retail Sales and Use Tax Code including clarification and improvement thereon.

3. Pursuant to the City Charter Section 51, the City Council hereby authorizes this City Retail Sales and Use Tax Code to be published in book or pamphlet form.

4. Copies of said code are on file with the City Clerk and the Administrative Services Department and are open for public inspection.

5. Notice of this proposed repeal and reenactment will be given by publication in The Daily Sentinel, a newspaper in general circulation in the City of Grand Junction.

6. Article IV Capital Improvement Fund created by Ordinance Number 2251 is not hereby repealed by the adoption of this ordinance, however it is hereafter not to be a part Chapter 24. The City Clerk is directed to treat Ordinance Number 2251 as an uncodified ordinance.
