ORDINANCE NO. 2615

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE WATER RATES IN THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:

1. That the following sections of Section 31-12 of Chapter 31 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Grand Junction be amended to read as indicated:

A. That subsection 31-12(a)(1) is amended to read:

"(1) Rate: Minimum charge (3,000 gallons or less) per month: $8.57. Charge for each 1,000 gallons thereafter as follows:

Next 7,000 gallons . . . $1.78

Next 10,000 gallons . . . $1.72

Over 20,000 gallons . . . $1.67"

B. That subsection 31.12(a)(2) is amended to read:

"(2) Applicability: The above rates shall apply to all users within the City limits except those users covered under subsection (e) hereof. It shall be the duty of all owners and/or operators of multiple dwellings, duplex dwellings and apartments to certify in writing to the utilities department the location thereof and the number of family units therein. Where more than one single-family dwelling is served through a single meter, a minimum charge of $4.28 shall be made for each family dwelling thus served, with credit being given for a corresponding quantity of water on the total consumption. All excess water shall be at the rate in the above schedule."

C. That subsection 31-12(b)(1) is amended to read:

"(1) Rate: Minimum charge (3,000 gallons or less) per month: $17.14. Charge for each 1,000 gallons thereafter as follows:

Next 7,000 gallons . . . $3.55

Next 10,000 gallons . . . $3.45

Over 20,000 gallons . . . $3.29"

D. That subsection 31-12(c)(1) is amended to read:

"(1) Rate: Minimum charge (3,000 gallons or less) per month: $17.14. Charge for each 1,000 gallons thereafter as follows:

Next 7,000 gallons . . . $3.55

Next 10,000 gallons . . . $3.45

Over 20,000 gallons . . . $3.29"

E. That subsection 31-12(d)(1) is amended to read:

"(1) Rate: Minimum charge (3,000 gallons or less) per month: $15.57. Charge for each 1,000 gallons thereafter as follows:

Next 7,000 gallons . . . $2.30

Next 10,000 gallons . . . $2.77

Over 20,000 gallons . . . $3.08"

F. That subsection 31-12(e)(1) is amended to read:

"(1) Rate: Minimum charge (3,000 gallons or less) per month: $8.57. Charge for each 1,000 gallons thereafter as follows:

Next 7,000 gallons . . . $1.78

Next 10,000 gallons . . . $1.72

Over 20,000 gallons . . . $1.67"

2. That rates provided by this Ordinance shall be effective December 20, 1992.
